Row on 45 gets Two Michelin stars in first Michelin Review in Dubai

Jason Atherton’s Row on 45 wins big at Third Michelin Guide in Dubai

 

The MICHELIN guide unveiled the third edition of its ratings and reviews at One&Only One Za’abeel hotel for 2024.

A total of 106 restaurants cooking 35 different types of cuisine were rated by Michelin. In the presentation of the ratings, The Michelin Guide Dubai recognised four new one Michelin Star restaurants, one new two Michelin Star restaurant and six new Bib Gourmands.

Jason Atherton’s Row on 45 was the big winner of the night. The new opening by British chef Jason Atherton located on the 45th floor of The Grosvenor House Dubai, became not just a new addition to the Guide but acheiving Two MICHELIN Stars at its first rating. This was a restaruant first for the Dubai dining scene. Michelin describes the restaurant as ‘a penthouse-like setting with an open kitchen, this intimate culinary experience seats 22 guests and offers a 17-course tasting menu divided into three acts.’

The kitchen at Row on 45 is under the direction of Executive Chef Daniel Birk. Described on Row on 45’s website as bringing over 20 years of culinary experience, 17 of those within Michelin-starred kitchens. Dan worked as Sous-chef for the likes of Germain Schwab at then two Michelin-starred Winteringham Fields, before taking on the role of Group Executive Chef at The Social Company in 2013, where he oversaw Jason Atherton’s new openings and prestigious events across the globe. Head sommelier is Lorenzo Abussi (Grantley Hall and Hakkasan) and General manager is Liam Paisley (formerly at Oblix at the Shard and Zuma).

Row on 45 joins Tresind Studio, Stay by Yannick Alleno, Il Restorante Niko Romito as the four Two-Michelin Star restaurants in Dubai. There are now fifteen one-Michelin Star restaurants in Dubai below this level.
