Michelin Star restaurant Store at Stoke Mill set close in September

Michelin Star restaurant Store at Stoke Mill in Norwich is set close in September after losing its head chef Liam Nichols. Its thought the restaurant will later reopen under a new name with a new head chef.

The restaurant opened in 2021 led by Head Chef  Liam Nichols who helped bring in the first Michelin star to the restaurant in 2023. It retained its Michelin star in the 2024 Michelin guide. Chef Nichols is planning to take a culinary sabbatical and travel around Asia to explore and pick up new ideas.

The notice on STORE website reads:

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Liam Nichols for all he has brought to Stoke Mill STORE over the past few years, it’s been quite a journey, from serving fish and chips in lockdown to achieving a Michelin Star in 2023.
From September 2024 STORE restaurant will be Closed.

We are grateful to the team who have worked with passion and enthusiasm to make STORE the success it has been and we wish Liam and Becca all the best as they leave STORE and enjoy exploring Asia together. So as they move on, so does the Stoke Mill story. The beautiful dining room that has been home to STORE will now reopen as a Private Dining room, a perfect venue for friends and families to come together and celebrate, whatever the occasion. A warm, relaxed and fun welcome awaits anyone who chooses to dine with us.

Headed up by Hazel Yuill with Andy and Ludo, this dining experience will provide beautiful and thoughtful Taster Menus, drawing on all the skills, passion and knowledge gained from being part of a Michelin Starred Restaurant. We would also be happy to provide this unique dining experience in your own home if preferred.
